Webcam & Weather Report

Description

Check out the amazing sights of wildlife with the webcam located at the Flat Creek Inn East, overlooking the National Elk Refuge.

Particularly amazing in the winter, this live feed allows you to observe thousands of elk as they gracefully descend upon the area, seeking nourishment from the native vegetation.

During times of severe winter conditions or scarcity of food, refuge staff assist by providing alfalfa pellets to sustain the majestic creatures. With the awakening of spring, the bull elk begin to shed their antlers, and new velvet antler growth begins to form.

As the season progresses, observe the elk as they embark on their journey back to the high-country ranges, and celebrate the arrival of newborn calves in late May during their trek to summer feeding grounds.
